James Whatley is recognised as one of the Country's elite band of teaching professionals.
A former Great Britain and Ireland PGA Cup Player. James established his reputation as a first class coach whilst learning his trade at the Marriott Breadsall Priory. As his reputation grew, so did demand for his services - from Tour players, Club professionals and aspiring amateurs. James joined Morley Hayes and set up East Midlands Golf Academy and became the Academy Director in 2004
James is the lead coach on the Performance Golf Academy at Derby College, Putting coach to the Derbyshire Mens 1st and under 16's County Squads.

Olivia Kelly is selected to be part of the England Select Girls Squad. This is a great achievement.
James finishes 4th on the Midland Order of Merit and qualifies for the PGA Play Offs in Turkey in December. He will be competing for starts on the European Tour

James wins the Derbyshire PGA Championship for the 3rd time at Ashbourne. Winning by 5 shots from Ian Walley.
August 2012
Greg Tickell represented Wales in the Boys Home Internationals.
James finishes 7th in British Club Professional Championships at Carden Park. Shooting 75,68,69,70 for a 6 under total.
July 2012
James won his 2nd Midland Order of Merit title at the Glazerite event, Wellingbrough GC. Shooting 70 67 to win by 1 shot from Paul Streeter

Congratulations to Olivia Kelly on winning both the Derbyshire Girls and Notts Girls Championships. A great achievement for a 14 year old.
